Fun Outdoor Sports For Groups
The outdoors never seem more alluring then after a long, cold winter as snow begins to melt and the warmth of spring begins to emerge. Enjoying the beauty of the outdoors is always a worthwhile experience whether you are solo or in a group. But some outdoor activities are best enjoyed in the company of others or, as in the case of a competitive game of volleyball, impossible without the company of others.
Whether you are enjoying the sparkling stalactites and stalagmites in a cave deep underground, spiking a volleyball over the net into the sand, or feeling the wind whip past you on your road bike, an outdoor adventure is best enjoyed when you have someone to share it with.
Spelunking
Nothing is more adventurous for some than exploring the deep, dark, hidden places in the earth. Spelunking can combine aspects of many outdoor adventures including repelling, rock climbing, hiking, and even scuba diving. However, because spelunking can be very dangerous, one person or even two people should never attempt it without larger numbers.
Because the chances of falling or getting stuck are high, it is best to have a group of people in case an emergency situation should arise. Spelunking with a group is not only safer, but can be much more enjoyable as well as you interact with each other.
Volleyball
Here is an outdoor sport that is impossible alone. It is one of the few sports that can truly be described as “the more the merrier.” Volleyball is a game for groups and a great way to make lasting friendships and to enjoy the company of the people on your team and even the folks on the other side.
It’s a chance for a little friendly competition. Whether played on the beach or on the grass, volleyball gives you a chance to enjoy the company of others and just have a good time in the outdoors.
Road Biking
Road biking is one of those versatile sports that can be enjoyed as a solo activity or as a great way to get outside and enjoy being with others as well. Biking in a group can add an extra challenge as each biker competes against others for better speeds and times.
Biking in a group is also helpful because bikers can take turns at the back of the pack, take a breather, and draft off the other bikers while they recoup their strength.
