Rihanna Tickets – Rihanna Celebrates Her 23rd Birthday at the NBA All-Star Game
It’s hard to believe singer Rihanna is still in her early twenties, but Billboard.com reports that the Barbados native celebrated her 23rd birthday by performing at the NBA All-Star game on Feb. 20. Drake and Kanye West were on hand for the celebration, with Drake chiming in on Rihanna’s hit “What’s My Name”-during which he worked “happy birthday” into the lyrics. West took the floor at Los Angeles’ Staples Center to perform his own hit “All of the Lights,” featuring Rihanna.
During halftime, the lights were dimmed for Rihanna’s performance of the single that made her a star, “Umbrella,” and later on the singer, sporting red hair, performed the current radio hit “Only Girl (In the World).” During the 60th Annual All-Star Game, Rihanna watched Kobe Bryant (his West team defeated the East 148-143) and other basketball stars while sitting next to Justin Bieber. Beyonce and Jay-Z, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, Gene Simmons, Steven Tyler, Dustin Hoffman, Spike Lee, Piers Morgan, Snoop Dogg, Venus Williams, Nicki Minaj and a host of other stars were on hand for the event.
The day before the NBA All-Star Game, rapper Kanye West debuted the video for “All of the Lights,” which features Rihanna and Kid Cudi, reports MTV News. Directed by Hype Williams, the video features Rihanna peering into the camera wearing a revealing top and prompted rumors that West would appear with her at the NBA All-Star Game-which proved to be true!
Rihanna is likely happy the attention is now on her appearance in West’s “All of the Lights” music video, as opposed to her own video for “S&M.” Billboard.com reports that famed fashion photographer David LaChapelle is suing Rihanna over the pop-colored music video, claiming it “is directly derived from and substantially similar to the La Chapelle works.” Rihanna’s “S&M” video has also been banned for its sexual content in some countries and sees Rihanna getting tied up, treating celebrity blogger Perez Hilton like a dog and conducting an interview while trapped in a plastic cover!
“S&M” is off Rihanna’s fifth studio album, Loud, which also features lead single “Only Girl (In the World).” The follow-up to 2009′s Rated R arrived in late 2010 via Def Jam Recordings. MTV News reports that Rihanna recently added 10 dates to her summer tour in support of Loud, and also invited “F*** You” singer Cee Lo Green to join her on the road. Rihanna’s road trip will kick off in Baltimore, Maryland on June 4 and Rihanna tickets are also available for tour stops in Los Angeles, CA; Uniondale, NY; Boston, MA; Philadelphia, PA and more.
The additional dates on Rihanna’s Loud Tour include stops in Montreal, PQ; Winnipeg, MB; Saskatoon, SK; Calgary, AB; Edmonton, AB; Vancouver, BC; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Albuquerque, NM and Boston, MA. In a statement announcing the additional dates and addition of Cee Lo to the tour, Rihanna said, “I’m a huge fan of Cee Lo since his days with Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley. He’s a musical genius, continually reinventing himself, and I’m thrilled to have him join me on tour.” Rihanna’s summer tour will wrap up in late July and she has fall dates lined up across the pond, including a string of shows at London’s O2 Arena.
Rihanna announced her tour news a few days after the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, which were held at Los Angeles’ Staples Center in Feb. 13. At the awards show, Rihanna picked up the trophy for Best Dance Record for “Only Girl in the World” and also performed not once but twice. Rihanna and Drake performed “What’s My Name” together and later on she mounted the stage with Eminem to perform their hit duet “Love the Way You Lie.”
