Got Too Many T-Shirts? Here Are Great Ideas To Re-Purpose Them!
No matter how well you take care of them, how much you want them to last and how hard you hang on to them, T-shirts have a limited lifespan. You will find that T-shirts will become stretched, stained and fit to be stored.
And so, you will end up with stacks upon stacks of T-shirts that you can throw to the landfills, donate to charities and sell in garage sales and flea markets. All of these options are well and good except for a few things.
If you throw them to the landfills, you are not making the world a better place for your descendants. If you donate them to charities, you might find that these have been sold for a profit in thrift shops. Yes, it’s unscrupulous but that’s the reality, like it or not. If you sell them in garage sales, you are basically selling your shirts for a loss.
So, what to with beloved, old T-shirts that you do not want to throw, donate and sell? Well, re-purpose them, of course! Once you search through the Internet, you will find many ideas on this subject matter, most of which are practical, doable and very creative.
First, you can transform your T-shirts into clothes for your pet dogs. This way, you can avoid buying expensive pet attire while saving the environment. Basically, you just reduce the size of the T-shirt and make appropriate holes to accommodate your dog’s anatomy.
Second, you may transform your extra large shirts from when you were overweight into yoga pants. The soft material is ideal for yoga stretches just as long as you make sure that the stitches are in place.
Third, your old T-shirts can become summer tops and blouses in various styles like tubes and halters. Often, you just need to cut the shoulders portion of the shirt and then add embellishments like knitted cloth and strings to make a new top.
Fourth, your sassy T-shirt can transform into sexy underwear and bikini. Yes, why purchase these feminine things when you can actually make them from old T-shirts just lying around. You need not even worry about your lack of sewing skills as the DIY project is as easy as pie.
Fifth, if you truly do not have the sewing skills, then you can just sew together old shirts to form them into a crazy quilt or rug. No cutting, no patterns, and no complicated sewing involved – just sew the T-shirts end to end and you are done.
Your T-shirts will have new lives to lead and you have made it possible to enjoy them in another way. Again, use your imagination but if you do not have it right now, then use the Internet for inspiration and instruction.
