Do Babies Need Special Clothing? Of Course!
Did you know God made the first clothes? In fact, this would make Him first tailor. In the garden one time, God was compelled to “unexpose” our first parents. To His divine consternation, the “apple incident”, brought man’s nakedness to light.
However, some obscure teachings insisted God’s foremost intention was not to hide shame. Driven away from Paradise, Adam and Eve needed clothes to survive. Naked, the first couple had no chance making it outside the garden’s harsh weather condition.
God’s gift of clothing, it was further revealed, was intended for forthcoming babies. Necessity played great part in God’s decision bestowing gift if He expects perpetuate His masterpiece creation.
Consequently, from tree barks and leaves to animal hides and furs, clothing evolved to become billion dollar industry. If not for unrelenting pursuit of excellence by fashion designers, clothes will still be drab and archaic at preset.
You can’t miss it, babies clothing are becoming more fashionable than ever. The never ending quest of manufacturers create the “perfect” attire got boost with production of superior fabrics. With good results, comfort and elegance has become industry by word.
What about safety considerations?
To minimize if not eliminate hazards to any products for 12 years and under; the government through The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (HR4040) has come out with several guidelines manufacturers to follow. The practicality of approach has been bone of contention for many.
Some safety concerns are fabrics’ lead content. Unlike adults, baby skins are more sensitive and easily prone to allergies. Most materials used manufacturing adult clothing is not compatible to babies’ needs.
In continuing consumer awareness drive, the Federal Trade Commission or FTC, another government watch dog, recommends parents should read tags before buying babies’ apparel. While price plays great influence buying clothes, comfort and safety should have greater consideration.
Beware of hard and thick materials. It will cause skin discomfort and mugginess. On the other hand, ability of extra soft and thin fabrics absorb heat and retain moisture is almost nonexistent. Try Eco friendly clothes for change.
Be careful, some tags are misleading. Make yourself up to date, it’s important you read publications about babies’ clothing. You need know about Chinese textiles and what the difference between bamboo and rayon is. Investigate! Your babies comfort is just glance away.
Next, babies grow fast; purchasing their wear allowances should be made. Prevailing practice is one size bigger. It’s one way to save.
Another influencing factor is climate. In countries where there are only two distinct seasons, warm and rainy, choice is simpler. As we move away from tropics, choices become more elaborate. In Europe, USA, and in places where it snows, clothing babies takes on truly different dimension but not a problem.
Every store that deals baby clothing will be very happy accommodate you. To suit your needs, clothes are available for every season. Winter suites and snow clothes are available for babies’ comfort in places where climates are extremely cold
For remaining seasons, some choices are: layered clothes are ideal for spring; babies’ coats for fall are important, though layered clothes are still suitable; and light materials for summer, cotton preferably.
Babies’ clothing are called Layettes. They come in sets and available in assorted styles. They are designed for baby’s comforts and styled adapt prevailing weather. Cotton is again ideal choice.
In dressing up babies, the rule is the simpler the better. To avoid babies from making scene, discomforts should be addressed right away. Be sure attire will highlight babies’ real age; appropriate clothes should be used for right occasion. Do not overdo. For parties, formal clothing is in order, while, hospital visits or lesser social affairs, casual attire will suffice.
Halloween costumes or Easter Bunny attires, everything from Christmas apparels, spring and summer clothes, swim wears, designer clothes are found in specialty stores. There are Fourth of July apparels: anything goes to trap your money. Clothing babies are becoming complicated, expensive.
Diapers, the ugly duckling turn to swan, is back with sophistication. Thanks to branded disposable offspring’s, life for both babies and parents have become more tolerable. Outside sorties with babies will be less embarrassing. Even lowly diapers have caught on. What else are in store for babies? Don’t cross your fingers, your money isn’t safe at all.
