Tips for Setting Up Your Hair Salon
You may be just starting out and you want to set up a phenomenal hair salon. You can picture the clients rolling in to have their hair done by you and your staff.
You probably have a vision on how you want your hair salon to look. If you do not have a vision and you need help, you can use these tips or hire an interior decorator. The interior decorator will help your hair salon come alive.
The first thing you want to do is think of the paint color. Choose a paint color that is soothing to the client. You do not want to choose something that is blinding bright and not comforting to the client. Your client comes in for a relaxing service, not to end up with a headache.
Once you have your paint color chosen you can start painting or hire someone to do it for you.
While the painting is being completed, you can look at hair salon furniture. You will need a station for each of your stylists. You will have to choose the chair, mirror and small desk type area for each stylist to keep their hairstyling items neatly organized in.
You will need an area for clients to relax and dry their hair. A small table or magazine racks connected to each chair is great so that the client can read while he or she is waiting.
An important part of your hair salon is the salon reception desk. The salon reception desk is the first thing your clients will see. You want the salon reception desk to look neat and organized. You want the desk to look pretty as well. Once you have chosen a salon reception desk out of wood, glass, veneer, etc., you can move onto the shelving.
The shelving should fit the decor of the hair salon. You may decide to put wooden shelves to go with the wooden salon reception desk. You may choose silver shelving to go with the glass reception desk you choose. Make sure you place your shelves at the front of the store so that the products are readily available to your clients.
Your clients will need a waiting area. Choose reception chairs that are comfortable and stylish.
Next you can place different types of artwork on the walls to complete the look of your hair salon.
If you are computer savvy, you may want to use it to decorate your salon. You can see firsthand on your computer what different styles will look like.
Once you have followed the above tips for setting up your hair salon, you are ready to open your doors to start your dream business.
