K12 Cornerstones Mission and Values
Every organization needs a succinct, clear mission statement and vision. Without either, an organization’s overall purpose could be misidentified by the public. And more importantly, every action the organization executes should be directly aligned to its mission and values.
Upon much deliberation and brainstorm sessions, I’m proud to share our current mission and vision with you all!
The Mission of K12 Cornerstones
K12 Cornerstones, LLC is committed to improving the K-12 educational experience for all students by using social media and technology to inform parents, educators, students, business leaders, and community leaders about K-12 educational options and choices.
The K12 Cornerstones Vision
Social media and technology has no doubt forever-transformed our culture and society. Like never before, our country is a participant in a much larger interconnected global society–economically, financially, and socially. The power of technology and social media can be claimed as the catalyst for revolutionizing countries, business models, information exchange, and social interactions.
And yet, our nation’s model of education remains virtually untapped, unchanged.
As our society continues to evolve, our nation’s graduates must be capable of competing and participating on a global-scale. America’s high school graduates must have a core academic competency, that is rooted in 21st century skills.
Our vision of a new model of K-12 learning is one in which families have multiple options–alternative schools; charter schools; homeschools; private schools; public schools; and virtual schools–so their children are college-ready, career-ready, or 21st century-ready.
We believe that no one model of education is better, or worse, than another. We believe that ANY educational option is appropriate, so long as it contains four key “cornerstones:”
1. An empowered student;
2. A committed mentor/teacher;
3. A supportive family; and
4. A relevant curriculum.
These cornerstones are what we believe is required of a solid K-12 education for ALL students. These K12 Cornerstones are what guide our vision of a new model of K-12 learning and educational options.
K12 Cornerstones dedicates itself to not only educate others about this educational vision, but build a network comprised of parents, educators, teachers, administrators, and community leaders, so this vision can become a reality.
