Make an eBook Cover – Tips to Start With

Writers these days are no longer worried about how to get money to publish their books and print them for circulation. In these times of online ease and convenience, you can actually become a bestseller writer right there on the internet. Of course, selling your ideas on an eBook will save you a lot of money in printing and making hardbound or softbound covers.

However, even if you are publishing online and selling your ideas and expertise in digital form, you also have to consider how to make an eBook cover that will grab the attention of your online readers. You still have to present your eBook like a traditional book and not just present online readers with the title and a download link. That of course is not appealing. If you are a writer trying to venture into publishing and selling your eBook online, here are a few tips that you might find useful on how to start with your cover design.

- Think of a cover design that truly represents the subject of your eBook. Make sure that you are not misleading your online readers as this will eventually put off your readers and of course, you have to remember that in the online world, negative feedback can spread like wildfire fast, thus you have to build your credibility as an online author as well.

- Make it unique. If it is your first time in publishing an eBook, you may want to take a look at book covers that sell and attract readers. But do not copy. Just get an idea on how these bestsellers and attractive book covers are designed, but you have to make your own unique design that will stand out and attract readers right from the start.

- Make it simple. Although it helps to make your cover something that is unique, it also helps to make it simple and make sure it is something that is direct to the point. Overly designed book covers may become too busy for a reader’s eye and may not even grab their attention. Stick to a design that speaks of your eBook subject, stirs the curiosity of your potential reader and a simple one that relays the clear message of the book even with just a glance.

- Choosing a color that attracts and makes a statement. Colors are important choices you have to do to make an eBook cover. If you are talking about money and financial freedom, you may want to use green or if you want to catch attention with your effective weight loss formula, you may also want to use bold red font colors or cover. Indeed, this can play a role in your trying to grab your reader’s attention as well

- Make your cover 3D. If you try to check out some eBooks that are just presented in a two dimensional flat cover and try to compare it to 3D ones, you can really tell which of them attracts more to online viewers. Of course, a 3D book presentation of your cover gives your audience an idea that you are giving them a book and you are give them an impression that you are giving them tons of valuable information as well.
